Our story
Our first customer wasn't a bowler.
It was a bowling center. Since 2003 we have been making leather shoes for rental fleets – our shoes for bowlers grew out of that.
Where we started
Rental shoes have the toughest job a bowling shoe can have: hundreds of different guests wear them, evening after evening, for years – and nobody looks after them. Building a leather shoe for that teaches you where it takes the strain and what holds it together.
Every pair we sell to bowlers is built to the same standard – except that only one person wears it.
German-Italian roots
BOWLIO's founder has German-Italian roots. That is where the model names Nero, Torino and Verona come from – and our idea of a good bowling shoe: classic Italian design, a German standard of quality, and details that each have a reason.
Over 100,000 pairs sold
The standard has stayed the same since 2003. Some customers are still bowling in pairs they bought more than ten years ago.
